Applications

The radio modules that we produce can be put to all kinds of uses!

Bee House

In 1987 it became known that bumble bees are an excellent alternative for the pollination of tomato crops. The usage of bees for pollination resulted in saving enormous labour costs & improvements in fruit quality. More recently the usage of bumble bees has been extended into a range of other crops. The picture opposite shows a bee house. The bee's exit the house through a 'flight hole' which is controlled by a Radio Transmitter. The release of bee's is timed for when the conditions are most suitable for effective pollination to take place. There are 2 ways to control signal transmission, one is via.a computer with a connection to the transmitter and another is through a timer that can be connected to work with the transmitter.

Wireless pager for anglers

A sensor is placed on the fishing rod that detects when a fish takes the hook. This then triggers a radio transmission which is picked up by the pager worn by the angler, thus alerting them to run back to their fishing rod. This paging facility thus provides a degree of freedom to the angler to at least take a stroll and stretch their legs.

Radio Telemetry

Our wireless modules are used in a variety of data logging applications. Be it monitoring and logging temperature, humidity pressure, or stress, wireless enabled data logging systems have revolutionised the ease with which a data logging system can be implemented. Should you have a requirement for data monitoring, please contact us with full details. We can then put you in touch with an appropriate solutions provider.
